Cheese of the past has been coming back to haunt us lately with a vengeance. The future seems no brighter in this regard. I had particularly high hopes for the recent re-imagining of The Bionic Woman. It was produced by the same people who made Battlestar Galactica, and given how good Galactica is, why shouldn’t I hope for similar quality? Because the best production standards aren’t enough to carry a show when the writing isn’t working for me, that’s why.

I’ve been hearing Knight Rider is also being resurrected. Will Arnett is to be the voice of KITT, though I threw up into the back of my throat a little when I read that David Hasselhoff might reprise the role of Michael Knight. Talk about cheese. Given that Pontiac retired the Firebird in 2002, what car would be used to recreate KITT? Surely using an old Firebird would be throwing money out the window given the lucrative product placement fee the producers could charge for using a current automobile. It turns out my feeling was correct. Ford won the day and KITT is coming back as a Mustang Shelby GT500KR.

I don’t see any sign of a cylon-esque red light in the front grille, which doesn’t make me happy!
