Bite me

I occasionally read Bill Walsh’s blog because he’s a copy editor and he calls attention to what’s wrong with phrases we take as normal and correct. His entries can be remarkably insightful at times. They can also be funny, like this summation to his entry, “Favorite-ism.”

Yes, my point is that “favorite” is an ad-speak cliche best avoided in actual writing. What, you think I’m being overly literal? Well, bite me.

But don’t actually bite me.

Yeah, bite me is a command not used lightly around me. I will actually bite the person. I like to bite. Probably TMI for a comment on a public blog but oh well.
