Actor Bruce Willis is the man. I appreciate those who can plainly say what they feel without coming across as having carefully considered their image beforehand. What you say doesn’t mean much to me if you’re only saying it only because you believe it is what I want to hear. In the case of so many entertainers these days, it’s more a matter of a ridiculous notion of superiority or significance, which, considering the source, is worthy of a good laugh.

But then comes Bruce Willis. Quoted in the article Willis Irritated by Outspoken Actors on contactmusic.com, he says:

I don’t think my opinion means jack shit, because I’m an actor. Why do actors think their opinions mean more because you act? You just caught a break as an actor. There are hundreds — thousands — of actors who are just as good as I am, and probably better. Have you heard anything useful come out of an actor’s mouth lately?

Frankly Bruce, what you said is the first smart thing I’ve heard coming from an actor in quite some time. Can you imagine Susan Sarandon, Barbra Streisand, or <chortle> Sean Penn saying anything so self-deprecating and human in the media? Will never happen. God forbid they let slip that they’re actual people.
