Thirty-three years after its introduction, the VHS format is done. The format’s inventor, JVC, was the last company making stand-alone VHS VCRs…and they stopped making them earlier this week. I was kind of surprised they were still making them, frankly.

They still do make DVD/VHS combo units, goodness knows why, but the writing is certainly on the wall for those too. Don’t forget to turn off the light.
