I watched The Last Kiss today and have a request for the people who write screenplays.
Does every romantic comedy with multiple couples have to involve between three and five men who are scared of relationships and therefore royally screw up the relationship they’re currently in…only to have the proverbial light-bulb above their head finally turn on, at which point their former girlfriends/wives, who were right all along, take them back and they live happily ever after?
Would shaking up this tired formula really strain you so much?
C’mon, throw us a bone.
The Last Kiss does stray from the formula slightly, but not enough to really make it worth your while. If these idiots really couldn’t see what they had right in front of them, they didn’t deserve the second chance they got.
