You know immediately that that car is German because it’s got too much power. They’ve overdone it, as usual … like they did on their French holiday in 1939.

James May’s inclusion in Top Gear’s second season is what, in my view, saved the series from Richard and Jeremy’s testosterone fueled school yard humour. I believe he once told those two that they weren’t real men because Jeremy doesn’t drink brown beer and Richard sticks his head in a bucket of hair product each morning
