In a struggle to be happy and free

Drystone Wall

Kifli!

This morning, my mother told me that she’s been doing all kinds of cooking for herself, but today she’s make something for me. I tried to get her to change her mind, but there was no use. While it’s good to be determined, she can sometimes be her own worst enemy as her body doesn’t allow her to do what she once could, yet she insists on trying. Although she wouldn’t listen to me, I can take some small solace in her insistence that there’s nothing easier to whip up than her kossuth kifli.

Mmmm mmmm good!

Ah, those delicious crescent moons! I can’t remember if I ever got the recipe…or, indeed, if your mom is willing to share it.…
