Poor Barry Manilow. He was scheduled to be a guest on The View to promote his new album, but be cancelled because he’s afraid of a girl. According to the IMDb, the singer referred to Elisabeth Hasselbeck in a statement saying,
I strongly disagree with her views. I think she’s dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her… I cannot compromise my beliefs.
He first asked to be interviewed by the other four women without Hasselbeck, and cancelled when his request was denied. Poor guy, he apparently thinks a woman half his age will shred him when he starts shilling his album of songs from the 1970s. Interestingly enough, according to E! Online, the producers of The View claim they withdrew their invitation when they learned of his objections to Hasselbeck, contrary to Manilow’s story. The fact remains, Barry is scared of a girl.
