For the life of me, I can’t understand why they won’t bring it to North America. Yes, it costs more than the regular Rabbit, but some people will certainly buy it when they do the research and see the numbers. As people do this, the price will drop.
For goodness sakes, of any time in the last twenty years, now is exactly the best time to kick their diesel push in to gear. Within a two or three years, more than a few other auto makers will eat their lunch of they continue to waffle.

They could not use the older engine on any car past ’06 and are waiting for the new ’08 beast that is still not out. I suspect for 2009, we will see a diesel Rabbit.
