Dates: Jan 29 to Feb 20
Odometer: 10698 to 11494
Distance travelled: 794.9
Fuel used: 53.634 litres
Calculated fuel economy:
6.7 l/100 km or 34.9 miles/US gallon
This is my second-worst fuel efficiency yet. In addition to the cold and traffic compounded by bad weather, the figures may be skewed because there was a ridge of snow beside the pump leaving the car sitting on a significant angle. The side of the car with the filler was higher so I might’ve been able to pump in more fuel than usual. We’ll see what the numbers show next time.
This was the first time I paid more than $60 for a fill-up. Premium diesel was $1.129 per litre and as a point of comparison, regular unleaded was $1.117 per litre. My fill-up cost $60.55 while the same quantity of regular would’ve been $0.63 less.
The previous tank of fuel lasted 22 days so I can’t really complain. I have even less cause for complaint considering my Honda Accord’s fuel tank was 10 litres larger and a fill-up lasted only 2/3 as long under ideal conditions.
