Word’s leaked out that Intel, with its 80,000 employees, will stick with Windows XP and not upgrade to Windows Vista. Not only is Microsoft losing a whack of income, but they’re also wearing some egg on their face as Intel makes the processors that power most computers that run Microsoft Windows. Intel and Microsoft have been close business partners forever.
So what’s the reason for this polite “no, thank you”? According to a New York Times article:
This isn’t a matter of dissing Microsoft, but Intel information technology staff just found no compelling case for adopting Vista
Ouch.

I purposefully opened a business account at Dell just so I could get XP instead of Vista. They wouldn’t let me choose otherwise.

I haven’t made the switch yet (and I haven’t been in a client office yet where anyone is running Vista). I’m hoping to treat Vista like ME 😛
