Peripatetic

Lori heard this word used in conversation. She asked after its meaning. I like that. So many people would just try to figure it out based on context and promptly forget about it, or just not even bother. Another opportunity to learn something, lost.

peripatetic adj. & n. adj. 1 (of a teacher) working in more than one school or college etc. 2 going from place to place; itinerant. 3 (Peripatetic) Aristotelian (from Aristotle’s habit of walking in the Lyceum while teaching).  n. a peripatetic person, esp. a teacher. peripatetically adv. peripateticism n.
