In a struggle to be happy and free

So can I vote now?

Yesterday, I came home to find a note from the Elections Canada volunteers. They came to confirm who lives in my apartment and make sure the voter list is current and accurate. I have no idea when they came, but it was during the day because the note greeted me at 5:30 p.m. when I arrived from work. It said they they’d be back today between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. That’s quite a range, but I can work with it.

So today I arrived home to find a booklet at my door. It explained:

Elections Canada officials were in your neighbourhood in the past few days, making sure the electors are correctly registered on the list of electors. To vote, you must register. Unfortunately, we were not able to reach you. We have left this information kit to help you register.

Not able to reach me? Maybe try reaching me by coming when you told me you would be coming! That’d be a good start.

Your tax dollar at work, yet again being well spent to serve you better!
