Yea, baby! The test results are in and the news is good.
- Blood sugar: 5.0 mmol/L (should be between 3.6 and 6.0)
- Cholesterol: 3.26 mmol/L (should be less than 5.2)
- LDL (bad cholesterol): 1.5 mmol/L (should be less than 3)
- HDL (good cholesterol): 1.43 mmol/L (should be greater than 1)
No STDs. No hepatitis. The only remotely bad thing I can see is my ferritin (iron) is 62 μg/L and 31 – 79 is labelled as ‘reduced iron stores.’ It’s not depleted, and I’m at the top end of ‘reduced’ as well.
There are plenty of other numbers, but I have no idea what most of them mean. In addition, my doctor said the results really couldn’t be better so I’m perfectly content.
I would love to see a similar test report for myself from ten years ago. I bet it wouldn’t have been pretty. Better late than never, right?
