I’ve seen a bumper sticker around that reads:

No God, no peace.

I’ve also seen variations that replace God with Jesus.

I’ve never been entirely comfortable with this sentiment, however. It’s not difficult to interpret the statement as a veiled threat.

    Hugely ironic, in my opinion, given the number of ‘holy wars’ history has witnessed. Besides, don’t most religions shield threats of eternal damnation anyway? How can war compare with that?
