The Spanish Aero Car crosses over the Niagara Whirlpool, about 5 km down-stream of Niagara Falls. Despite appearances, it goes from Canada to Canada because the river has an abrupt 90° bend at the whirlpool. The water rushes in from the upper left and after a loop, it flows out at the lower left. Eleven bucks gets you across the whirlpool and back. It’s about a kilometre, each way. The aero car itself was built in 1913. You can bet that it would never be built today, with all the required environmental assessments and such.
